We are thrilled to announce our guest of honor lineup for Norwescon 45!

Writer Guest of Honor – P. Djèlí Clark

Phenderson Djèlí Clark is the author of the Nebula Award-winning and Hugo Award-nominated novel A Master of Djinn and the Hugo-, Nebula-, and Sturgeon Award-nominated author of the novellas Ring Shout, The Black God’s Drums, and The Haunting of Tram Car 015. His short stories have appeared in online venues such as Tor.com, Heroic Fantasy Quarterly, and Beneath Ceaseless Skies, and in print anthologies, including Griots and Hidden Youth. Artist Guest of Honor – Grace P. Fong

Grace P. Fong is a Chinese-American illustrator whose artwork has appeared in Uncanny Magazine, Strange Horizons, and other speculative fiction anthologies. She has been nominated four times for the Best Fan Artist Hugo Award, and won the inaugural Ignyte Award in 2020. She uses her experience as a narrative designer in tabletop/trading card games (Magic: the Gathering) and video gaming (Palia) to inform and educate writers and artists how to work together.

Science Guest of Honor – Dr. Greg Dubos

Dr. Greg Dubos is a French-American systems engineer with expertise in robotic planetary exploration. He contributed to missions for the European Space Agency and Ball Aerospace before working at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory for the past decade. At JPL, he has been part of the engineering team for the Mars rovers Curiosity and Perseverance, and the Europa Clipper spacecraft. Greg has a doctorate in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech, and has co-authored over 20 publications on space system design.

Spotlight Publisher – Uncanny Magazine

Founded in 2014, Uncanny Magazine is a bimonthly e-book and monthly online science fiction and fantasy magazine featuring passionate SF/F fiction and poetry, gorgeous prose, provocative nonfiction, and a deep investment in the diverse SF/F culture, from writers of every conceivable background. Uncanny believes there is still plenty of room in the genre for tales that make you feel. Uncanny Magazine is a 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022 Hugo Award winner, 2016 Parsec Award winner, 2019 British Fantasy Award winner, and numerous-time Locus Award finalist. Many stories from Uncanny Magazine have been award winners and finalists, including winning Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy, Locus, and Ignyte Awards, and have been included in year’s best anthologies. Uncanny Magazine will be represented at Norwescon by co-publishers/co-editors-in-chief Lynne M. Thomas and Michael Damian Thomas.
