Now that we’ve gotten our first ConCom meeting out of the way and our second meeting coming up fast (on Oct. 15th…see you there!), pieces are already starting to fall into place, and some deadlines are already fast approaching! Here’s a few that you may want to be aware of…
- We’ve just opened applications for the Norwescon 40 Dealers’ Room. If you’re a vendor of science fiction/fantasy related goods and would like to be part of our Dealers’ Room, submit your application soon! As we run a juried room and always get more applications than we have space to support, the application form will only be open through November 15th, so don’t wait too long. See the application form page for more details.
- Applications for Club Tables are now open as well! Norwescon offers table space to clubs, groups, conventions, and organizations that promote science, science fiction, fantasy, costuming, and other fannish pursuits. This table space is an opportunity to share your enthusiasm with Norwescon members who have similar interests.
- Whether you’re a party host or simply want a little more space to accommodate you and your family, friends, or roommates during the convention, the time to request a suite is coming up. Suite request applications will be opening at noon on Saturday, October 8th. There are a limited number of suites in the hotel, so be sure to get your application in as soon as you can after applications open! See our Hotels page for more information on requesting suites.
- Speaking of the hotel, we were recently informed by our Hotel Liaison that we are already sold out of Double Queen rooms (with two queen-size beds)! There are still a number of Single King rooms (with, well…one king-size bed) available, and while we can’t predict or guarantee anything, it’s possible that Double Queen rooms may become available if people need to adjust or cancel their reservations, so if you’re hoping to find one, it can be worth checking back with the hotel.
- We’ve also been informed that we are now sold out of Wednesday nights at our convention rate! You can still include Wednesday nights on your reservation, but they will be at the hotel’s standard rate. In any case, if you haven’t reserved a room at the DoubleTree hotel yet, you might want to do so soon! The easiest way is by using the direct “Book Your Room” link on our Hotels page.
Those are the biggest updates at the moment, but we’re sure there will be more to come, so keep your eyes, ears, or antennae open!
