Hall Costume Contest
Hall costumes are the fabulous things you’re wearing at the convention that are not masquerade entries. Anyone who is a member of Norwescon 44 can enter the hall costume contest. This year, hall costume awards will be decided by the membership and voted on daily through Instagram.
To submit a hall costume to the contest, either:
- Go to the hall costumes table in the lobby and have our lovely volunteers take your photo, or
- Take your own photo, either at the convention or in your own hallway.
Make sure your costume/prop is clearly visible in your photo and that your costume follows our costume guidelines.
To submit your photo, either:
- Ask the volunteer at the hall costumes table in the lobby (who took your photo) to submit it,
- Upload your photo to your own Instagram account and tag our @NWChallcostumes account, or
- Email your photo to hallcostumes@norwescon.org, and we’ll upload it to our our @NWChallcostumes account. Please include your name and badge number (if you have it).
Voting
All members can vote in the contest by going to @NWChallcostumes and “liking” your favorite costumes. (You will need to have an Instagram account to “like” images.) We will award a winner each day, as well as an award for the entire convention, based on the number of “likes” each image receives.
Prizes
Hall costume ribbons are a tradition, and we’ll be continuing to award badge ribbons to the fantastic looks we see walking around the hotel. Each day we’ll award one Grand Ribbon and an overall costume winner for the weekend. Additionally, our team will award one ribbon for best prop, and one ribbon for youth (ages 0-17).
