Norwescon had a good year this year. Thanks to the popularity of our GoHs, we drew in a large number of new members, while still keeping costs under control. We ended with a surplus, which goes into our reserves to be used for years when we run at a loss.

Fairwood Writers and Norwescon are proud to support EMP’s Write out of this World: Sci-Fi and Fantasy Short Story Contest. To kick off this year’s contest, Fairwood Writers is conducting a workshop to help students develop a story for the contest.

It was announced on Friday, April 3, at Norwescon 38, in SeaTac, Washington, that the winner for the distinguished original science fiction paperback published for the first time during 2014 in the U.S.A. is: THE BOOK OF THE UNNAMED MIDWIFE by Meg Elison (Sybaritic Press)
