Speculative Film Festival Winners Announced

Norwescon’s Speculative Film Festival was held at Norwescon 44 over Thursday and Friday nights. The festival had a panel of 10 judges which watched over 100 films to select some of the best science fiction, fantasy, and horror short films from around the world.  The festival was a truly international film festival; we showed 43 films from 13 countries.

Norwescon is proud to announce our festival’s winners.

Judges’ Choice Micro Short Film (Under 3 minutes)

Stray, directed by Wanjiru Njendu (USA).

Judges’ Choice Short Film

Honorable Mention: Ryoko’s Qubit Summer, directed by Yuichi Kondo (Japan).

Winner: The Lord of the Woods (Kriss De Valnor), directed by Mai Bui (Poland)

Audience’s Choice

This award was based on ballots cast by our audience members.

Runners up: Tim Travers and the Time Travelers Paradox, directed by Stimson Snead (USA) and Le Varou, directed by Marie Heyse (France).

Winner: The Lord of the Woods (Kriss De Valnor), directed by Mai Bui (Poland)
