Want to connect with the Norwescon community more than once a year? Do you like nature? Join us for a camping trip — a few days by the beach, with all your nerdy friends, and nothing to do but catch up on your summer reading and cook food over an open fire! Sounds great, right?
As just tabulated and announced at the post-con meeting post-meeting social, here are the results of the Norwescon 41 elections: Loree Parker (chair), Tonya Clark (vice-chair), Jackie Nordquist and Katrina Marier (GOH Committee), and the bylaw change was approved.
Would you like to help plan, organize, and create the Pacific Northwest’s premier science-fiction and fantasy convention? April’s Norwescon 40 post-con meeting will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017.
It’s once again time for our post-convention roundup of links! Over the past few weeks, we’ve been keeping an eye out for your blog posts, photo sets, and videos from Norwescon 40 to see what all you were saying. Here’s what we found!

It was announced on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Norwescon 40, in SeaTac, Washington, that the winner for the distinguished original science fiction paperback published for the first time during 2016 in the U.S.A. is: THE MERCY JOURNALS by Claudia Casper (Arsenal Pulp Press). Special citation was given to: UNPRONOUNCEABLE by Susan diRende (Aqueduct Press).
This year’s Hugo Award nominations were announced today, and several of the nominees are past or current Norwescon attendees, either as Guests of Honor or as attending professionals (and sometimes both!).
The Norwescon team invites you to hang out in the Convention Lounge: the convention’s ‘living room’. The Convention Lounge offers a more comfortable, intimate space than our former Hospitality.
If you need to cancel your room at the DoubleTree hotel, the deposit is no longer refundable. We recommend that rather than simply canceling and losing the deposit, you try to reassign your room to another person by transferring the reservation.

Are you a member of the convention that uses the Norwescon Cloak Room to store your belongings during the day? Well, we have some hard news to relay to you. At this time, we will be running the cloak room on a very limited basis during this year’s convention.
