As the theme for the 2013 convention is ‘Save the World,’ this year’s Sunday Event will be a Non-Profit Fair for organizations dedicated to making the world a better place. We would like to invite organizations with a tie to our community to participate.

Norwescon’s concom has formed a committee consisting of members outside the executive team to address a possible official written harassment policy for convention membership.

The judges of the 2012 Philip K. Dick Award and the Philadelphia SF Society, along with the Philip K. Dick Trust, are pleased to announce seven nominated works that comprise the final ballot for the award.
Norwescon is once again proud to be a sponsor of the EMP’s 2013 Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival! Norwescon volunteers will be at the festival, so feel free to stop by and say hello if you see us!

As of November 29, 2012, the Norwescon room block at the DoubleTree is _sold out_. But don’t fret! Other fine hotels in the area have been kind enough to make special arrangements for Norwescon attendees.
December 27th is the last day you can cancel your reservation and get your deposit back. All deposits are _nonrefundable_ if cancelled after December 27th. February 24th, 2013 is the last day you can make a modification to your existing reservation (changing your arrival or departure dates) without incurring a penalty.

We are pleased to announce that our Author Guest of Honor for Norwescon 36 will be author, musician, and theoretical physicist Catherine Asaro!
Norwescon 36 has yet to hear from any LARP groups who are attending. If you and your LARP group are attending Norwescon this year please contact us via email or leave a comment here. We can help you organize and schedule hotel space for your game during the convention!

Are you into tabletop, card, roleplaying, or miniature war games? We’re looking for Game Masters to sign up to run games in our Scheduled Gaming room! Our gaming rooms are some of the first to open and last to close every Norwescon.

We’re often asked why Norwescon and Sakura-Con are both scheduled for Easter weekend each year. Both are big geek-friendly events, and while there’s a slightly different focus, there are many who would prefer to attend both, rather than having to either split time between the two or choose one over the other.
Norwescon room block is now at 86% full. Don’t wait too long to make your reservation as we have been going up about 5% per week.
