Concert Schedule for Norwescon 34
By admin | April 19, 2011
nwcMUSIC, the filk/geekmusic programming group at Norwescon, are pleased to announce our concert lineup for this year’s Norwescon! We’re proud to feature a wider range of geekmusic than ever before, with an entirely new concert night! We hope people will come out Thursday night and reward people willing to take a chance on a Thursday night!
We want to thank Heather Dale for coming all the way out from Ontario for us, and Electric Children and Andrew Ross for volunteering to play on Thursday. Plus we have some of your favourites back again, like last year’s Norwescon newcomer, Death*Star, and local filk monsters Vixy & Tony. Check it:
Thursday night: (Experimental Night!)
- CRIME and the Forces of Evil (8pm) – Rage-driven acoustic elfmetal!
- Electric Children (9pm) – 8-Bit Electro house from Seattle Chiptune veteran Jack Waterman
- Andrew Ross (10pm) – A can of worms filled with Pandora’s boxes!
Friday night:
- Annie Henry (7pm) – Irish trad with a twist
- Leannan Sidhe (8pm) – Bittersweet faerie folksongs for ensnaring human hearts
- Aislinn the Bard (9pm) – Pegasus nominee Anne Prather has a new CD!
- Starlight (10pm) – Stephanie Weippert and Rich Glover’s new band, a heady mix of country, folk, filk, and rock with a skyward reach.
Saturday night:
- Fighter X (7pm) – IT’S GAME BOY DANCE MUSIC. 8-bit electronic artist Fighter X’s first appearance at Norwescon!
- Death*Star (8pm) – From Magic to tabletop, Mecha to gamestop, these nerds rap about geek culture in all its glory. This nerdcore battlestation is fully operational.
- Vixy & Tony (9pm) – Come rock out with Vixy & Tony’s intensely fun acoustic folk-rock!
- The Heather Dale Band (10pm) – Canadian Celtic heavyweight Heather Dale brings her band all the way west from Ontario! Praise her! PRAISE HER!
Check the nwcMUSIC page for sample tracks from many of these artists!

It would be wonderfully helpful if the LOCATIONS for each night’s concert block, or for individual concerts if different, were listed along with the performers. It took three tries for me to find the location info elsewhere on the site. Please add it here?

Hi Callie,
Sorry for the delay in responding! We were a little busy that weekend. Hopefully you were able to find the shows you wanted to see, and we’ll keep this in mind for next year!
