Philip K. Dick Award Norwescon is proud to sponsor and host the 2004 Philip K. Dick Award Ceremony. The ceremony marks the 23nd year that the Philip K. Dick Award will be presented.
Award Nominees Announced January 10, 2005 2004 Philip K. Dick Award Nominees Announced The judges of the 2004 Philip K. Dick Award and the Philadelphia SF Society are pleased to announce seven nominated works that comprise the final ballot for the award:
First prize and any special citations will be announced on Friday, March 25, 2004 at Norwescon 28 at the Doubletree Seattle Airport Hotel, SeaTac, Washington. The Philip K. Dick Award is presented annually for distinguished science fiction published in paperback original form in the United States. The award is sponsored by the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society and the award ceremony is sponsored by the NorthWest Science Fiction Society. Last year’s winner was ALTERED CARBON by Richard K. Morgan (Del Rey) with a special citation to DANTE'S EQUATION by Jane Jensen (Del Rey). The 2004 judges are Arthur Byron Cover, Karin Lowachee, Syne Mitchell, James Van Pelt, and Sherryl Vint (chair). Philip K. Dick Awards February 12, 2005 The five Philip K. Dick Award judges for distinguished science fiction published in paperback original format in the U.S.A. in the 2005 award year are: Charles Coleman Finlay 2999 Neil Ave. #50A Columbus, OH 43202-2061 Kay Kenyon 1219 Orchard Avenue Wenatchee, WA 98801-1948 Robert A. Metzger 109 Turtleback Crossing Dr. Chapel Hill, NC 27516-4334 Lyda Morehouse 445 North Wheeler St. St. Paul, MN 55104-3622 Graham J. Murphy 49 Deerpark Crescent Bowmanville, Ont. L1C 3M4 Canada Publishers who issue eligible titles during the calendar year 2005 are encouraged to provide copies to each of the judges as the books are published during the year. (All works of science fiction published originally in the US as paperbacks during the year 2005 are eligible.) The nominees will be announced in January, 2006. The Philip K. Dick Awards ceremony will be held in Seattle at Norwescon in March 2006. The Philip K. Dick Award is sponsored by the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society.
