The Norwescon Art Show consistently highlights some of the best in fantasy and science-fiction themed artwork of all types. Featuring work by our Artist Guest of Honor plus many regional artists, we delight in bringing the best possible artwork to you.

Art Show Registration

The Norwescon 48 art show is now full. Participating artists may use the links on the art show registration page to pay for display space and manage art pieces and bid tags, but no new artist registrations are being accepted. Her art primarily features original fantasy and science fiction charcoal drawings and pointillism-style paintings.

Abranda is a professional artist working in various mediums. She is inspired by nature and feminine strength to create works of art and illustrations with whimsical and mythological themes.

Adrianne, a Colorado-based visionary artist, pulls spiritual concepts, bioluminescent sentience, and surreal dimensions from the ethers. She paints with a merging of strong technical abilities, a deep sense of magic, and a soul-centered relationship with the Earth. Her art is a living exploration of the intersection of the human and more-than-human worlds, accomplished through remembering the magic of our interconnection.

Belsac Leather Art

Belsac Leather Art logo
Belsac has been carving leather for over 30 years. His art explores the imagery of the past with a focus on early Britain. Belsac creates original designs incorporating ancient symbols and images found in jewelry, carvings, and manuscripts, including those of Celtic, Norse, and Anglo-Saxon styles . He is best known for his Homicidal Rabbit series.

Betsy Mott

Betsy Mott logo
After nine years of college and two master’s degrees (English literature and theatre), Betsy Mott became a professional artist. For over 40 years, her techno drawings, cosmic, mystic, and fantasy paintings have shown at science fiction art shows country-wide. Her work appears on the Landmark, Great Warrior, and Great Space Ships series of published note cards; on CDs, webzines, books, and websites; and in personal collections worldwide. She is part-owner of The Corner Door Fountain and Books in historic downtown Millwood, Washington. Blane Bellerud

Braden Duncan, Clockwork Art

Braden Duncan (aka Clockwork Art) is a full-time artist and animal rescue advocate based in Seattle, WA. Braden’s work combines a love of pop culture, mythology, mysticism, the macabre, steampunk, cybernetics, and the natural world. Her cats are her main models, and she uses all traditional media (primarily watercolor). Braden is the exhibitor coordinator for Sea-Meow Con (Seattle’s premier cat convention) and helps raise funds and awareness for animals and humans in need. You can find Braden and her work at comic cons, horror shows, and cat events nationwide!

Brett Bullion

Brett Bullion logo
Brett Bullion is a fantasy/dark fantasy artist currently living in the lovely little city of Poulsbo, Washington. He creates illustrations for himself, tabletop role-playing games, and fantasy novels, most recently for Mike Shel’s deluxe edition rereleases of his Iconoclasts trilogy. Many of his inspirations come from nature, fantasy, and horror as well as books, folklore, mythology, and games. He hopes to inspire others in the same way so many creatives have inspired him.

Brittany Otto

Brittany Otto logo
Brittany is a paper artist known for combining layered paper and light into shadow box sculptures that she calls Oneiroframes. Based in Seattle, Washington, since 2012, she made her first paper sculpture in 2016. She has since further developed her own techniques of cutting and layering paper and light to create her own unique and illustrative voice. Each line is painstakingly hand-cut with a blade. Her work is influenced by her love of fantasy, biology, and struggles with mental health. She creates transformative, dreamlike portals that draw the viewer in to expressive worlds that shine brightest when surrounded by darkness.

Camille Meehan

A Pacific Northwest artist, Camille Meehan spent much of her life exploring the wooded islands of Puget Sound. That time carried over into her work, which shows a love of nature and rich textured environments full of dynamic magical creatures. Currently deep in her “Unicorn Period,” Camille is motivated by her family’s love of unicorns, creating unorthodox representations of the much-beloved equine. In addition to being a fantasy painter, Camille is a 3D environment artist for games. In 2025, she worked for Mob Entertainment, best known for its work on the popular Poppy Playtime horror series.

Chelsea Santamaria

Chelsea Santamaria logo
Chelsea is an independent artist from Orcas Island who has been illustrating professionally since 2012. She is inspired by the worlds of fantasy, science fiction, and ancient mythology. She is the creator of The Lost Forest tarot, and her latest artistic venture is handmade, one-of-a-kind, fully articulated art dolls of nature spirits.

Christy Grandjean

Christy Grandjean logo
Christy is a self-taught professional artist well known for her anthropomorphic animal characters and unique whimsical style. She works mainly with a mixed-media technique of watercolors and colored pencils, but also creates vivid and detailed acrylic paintings. Christy has been licensed with several companies—including Leanin’ Tree cards—has had her work used in television, and has been published in numerous magazines and articles. Her work is also quite well known across the internet, and she has been awarded many times in various art shows. She currently lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Cody Vrosh is a watercolor artist and illustrator based in California, fusing science fiction and fantasy elements with bold characters and playful creatures to create unique speculative illustrations. He is the creator of Coffee Creatures and Teeth Creatures. His work includes art for Sideshow Collectibles, American Gothic Press (an imprint of Famous Monsters of Filmland), and Printed in Blood. Cody’s current project is Little Satellites, a collection of paintings of lost astronauts traveling the cosmos that explores themes of solitude and mortality. He can be found painting too many cats on the socials as @codyvrosh.

Colleen East

Colleen East logo
Colleen East is a speculative fiction writer and an artist known for her vibrant use of expressive color and evocative imagery. Raised in the Appalachians, she spent many years traveling hither and yon before finally landing in Portland, Oregon, where she now resides. She is chair of the Hillsboro Chapter of the Willamette Writers, reads tarot, and teaches yoga.

Crystal Smith

Crystal Smith logo
Crystal works in acrylic, colored pencil, and graphite. Her works have been featured in gallery showings throughout the western states and are included in private collections in several countries. Her artistic endeavors continue to expand, the latest branching being fore-edge painting on books. She lives and works on the family property with a menagerie of cats, dogs, and horses.

Ellis Bray

Ellis is a Washington-based author, artist, and poet. He is an illustrator for the sci-fi magazine The Future Fire, and his short story “Elegy for the Nameless Man” was recently nominated for a Pushcart Prize. His greatest artistic achievement, however, is the Dancing Bean Saga  he created for his children, who have compiled an enormous body of lore surrounding the natural history of Beans.

Eric L Vargas

Eric L Vargas is a freelance comic artist and illustrator based out of the Pacific Northwest. Eric’s focus is on mecha, sci-fi, cyberpunk, and fantasy art. Current projects include an in-progress comic, Pirates of the Starry Seas, and their  webcomic, Traveling Echoes. Former projects include the first volume of Steel Siege for Battlequest Comics, as well as character/creature concept artist work for Rocket Cat Games.

Fran Eisemann, Mythic Beings

Fran Eisemann, Mythic Beings logo
Fran Eisemann is a painter and sculptor. Her sculpture teacher was George Koras, known for his fluid abstract bronze work and for being an apprentice  to Jacques Lipchitz. Her work is magical and mythical realism and is sold primarily to private collectors. Right now she has two ongoing projects: a small unicorn in translucent alabaster for a New York client, and a large Kannon-sama sculpture in hinoki cypress for a Zen Buddhist temple in northern Japan.

Geneva Bowers is a Hugo Award–winning illustrator. Her work focuses on atmosphere and magical realism, giving a sense of calm and nostalgia. It is inspired by growing up in Appalachia, caught between glorious nature and geeky interests. She aims to make people smile while showing a piece of how beautiful life can be.

Jessica enjoys creating fantasy-inspired stained-glass creations, including wearable art in the form of flower crowns and tiaras.

John Granacki, Master of Time and Space

After John Granacki dropped out of art school to paint, his artwork was first publicly unveiled in San Francisco at Westercon 31 (1979) and then again in Sacramento at Westercon 33. After an apartment fire destroyed his body of work, a 36-year convention hiatus ensued, although he eventually recovered and exhibited locally (Grants Pass, Oregon—chiefly in music shops, nightclubs, coffeehouses, galleries, and his local museum). He ultimately began showing at science fiction conventions again, beginning with the Helsinki Worldcon in 2017, followed by an Orycon, two more Worldcons, a Nasfic, four Norwescons (one virtual), and two Loscons.

John R. Gray III

John  R. Gray III has been showing his artwork at conventions nationally since 1981. He has received numerous awards, including in best fantasy, best color, best use of humor, and most unusual concept. His publishing history includes book and cassette covers, fantasy bookplates, CD-ROM fantasy clip art collections, and various illustrations. His most recently published works include the cover art and interior illustrations for The Dragon, The Damsel, and the Knight, by Bob Brown (Sky Warrior Publishing) and cover art for Sweet Secrets, by Stephanie L. Weippert (TANSTAAFL Press). He is currently working as a freelance commercial artist and as a luthier, building custom autoharps.

Katie Croonenberghs

Katie Croonenberghs logo
Katie is a fantasy artist based in the Pacific Northwest specializing in fantastical creatures with strong roots in our natural world. Her works often depict dragons living in their habitats, from grand scenic vistas to deep forests inspired by the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and surrounding areas. Other mythical creatures and wildlife make many appearances in her fully detailed paintings. Her main media of choice are watercolor, gouache, and sometimes ink.

Kcie Monk

Kristen “Kcie” Monk, based in Tacoma, Washington, is an artist and illustrator who specializes in all things fantasy and whimsy. She loves drawing mermaids, witches, and fairies, among other mythical creatures. Her medium of choice is primarily digital art, but she is also very passionate about traditional techniques. Kcie is ambitious and always willing to experiment with mixed media. Her drawings are highly detailed, vibrant and colorful.

Keith Amarak Waters

K. Amarak Waters attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, where he studied under the amazing figurative painter Terry Johnson. Later he transferred to Antioch University, where he designed his own curriculum in creative studies. Initially interested in painting and writing, Keith began sculpting figures that combine elements of fantasy and traditional art in 2004. He is inspired by novels, movies, mythology, the occult, and his own overactive imagination. Mr. Waters shares working and living space with fellow artist Jessica Geiger and their four-legged companions.

L. Pierce Ludke

Pierce has been showing work at conventions for over 40 years. Her subject inspirations are many: dreams, myths, music, science, nature, and SF. Work usually starts with a sketch (either digital or a page from her sketchbook). At times it can be a detour inspired by a work-in-progress. The idea is refined using various software tools, including Painter for image completion, Blender and/or Poser for object/figure creation, Terragen for rendering, and Photoshop for final adjustments before printing.

LA Wildsun Bradley

LA Wildsun Bradley is three trash pandas in a trench coat masquerading as three feral barn cats in an oversized knitted sweater disguised as a perpetually tired artist in a chef coat. Their tools of choice are ballpoint pens, acrylic paint makers, and a Kobo Aizawa sayatuki chef knife.

Li Harrison

Li Harrison logo
Influenced by a love for sci-fi and fantasy, Li creates sculptural works and durable, waterproof jewelry that challenges the nature of the medium. Their creative process is shared with their service dog, Molly, at their home office in Seattle, WA. Li is a disabled, queer, and trans artist folding life into paper. Chronic Baubles Origami Jewelry is the business that sustains them.

Lizzy D. Hill

Lizzy D. Hill logo
Lizzy D. Hill grew up on a farm in Southern Idaho, where she was free to explore the world around her and find the enchanting things in it. She enjoys reading fantasy books, researching fashion, exploring nature, and listening to music. To pursue her inspirations, Lizzy D. got an Associate of Fine Arts at Brigham Young University-Idaho,  has been displaying her art at sci-fi and fantasy conventions, and has done illustrations for children’s books and chapter books. Her artwork has won awards at Worldcon and Norwescon. She is happily married to her best friend and living in Washington State with their son and noisy blue-eyed kitty.

Lynne Taylor Fahnestalk

Lynne  is a Canadian artist specializing in metal sculpture, single-panel cartooning, and magazine illustration. She is a two-time recipient of the Canadian Prix Aurora Award for Artistic Excellence. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, gallery exhibitions, and art shows. She has served as art director for two national magazines and was co-owner of a small fine-art printing company. Lynne currently creates one-of-a-kind robot sculptures from upcycled metal objects. She uses metal pieces as she finds them (never polishing, painting, or shaping). The question Lynne is asked most often about her bots is “Do they move?” and her answer is “Not when I’ve been looking.”

M.M. Schill is an award-winning artist, illustrator, writer, and pro editor. She also serves as an associate editor at PseudoPod (an award-winning pro-market short-horror podcast and e-zine).

Michael Brugger

Michael Brugger logo
Michael Brugger is an artist residing in the Upper Left Coast . Michael draws his inspiration from a lifetime of reading science fiction and fantasy as well as a healthy dose of tabletop gaming. He has won several best science fiction and people’s choice   awards at conventions around the Pacific Northwest.

Michelle Morrell

Michelle Morrell logo
Michelle has held numerous positions at Norwescon, including member services director and secretary. Her special passion project is the Norwescon Little Free Library book exchange, where thousands of books get rehomed each year. Michelle was a Hugo finalist for her cross-stitch patterns for Seattle Worldcon 2025, where she was the division head for the exhibit hall. She reviews contracts by day, prowls the Seattle goth scene by night, looks for any excuse to wear elf ears, and lives by the creed “I read, therefore I am.”

Misty Gibson

Misty Gibson logo
Misty is a bistitchual   fiber artist from Richland. She has been crocheting for 40 years and knitting for 15 years. She has made tiny crocheted fish, shawls, necklaces, blankets, and more.

Raven’s Dance

Raven’s Dance logo
Raven’s Dance works primarily in resins. She likes to create on unusual upcycled items or add art to the practical. Her name is an ode to her fascination with all corvids, especially their sagacity and playfulness. After seeing herself as “not an artist” until well into her 50s, she finally allowed art to be exploration and play rather than production, and that is where she found her joy. She is unabashedly anti-fascist, and profits from the sale of her art go to mutual aid for those on the front lines opposing authoritarianism.

Raymond VanTilburg

Ray has been attending science fiction conventions since the early 80s. That’s where he started producing T-shirts with his art to sell at conventions, which grew into OffWorld Designs and 40 to 50 shows a year. He has designed and produced shirts for several conventions, including Norwescon, Windycon, and Worldcons (Anticipation, Chicon 7, Loncon 3, Sasquan, MidAmeriCon II, Dublin, and many others). Over the years he has been artist guest  and received awards at several of the conventions. The bulk of his art is fantasy/sci-fi-oriented landscapes and spacescapes and surrealistic and imaginary images.

Rob Carlos

Rob has been working as a fantasy artist since 1998, doing illustrations for various card games, book covers and interiors, and visual design work of every variety. He has been invited to be the artist guest of honor at numerous conventions, where he has spoken about being an artist as a career and demonstrated his techniques. Rob stays busy doing both self-directed and commercial projects and murals. He is currently the artist for the Twitch stream Legacy of Fools, a live actual-play D&D game, and the art director and primary illustrator for Beach House RPGs , which released Start Here: The Introductory RPG in 2024. In spring of 2025, Rob worked as the art director of the movie Gamers 4: Dorkness Falls, which was filmed here in the Seattle/Tacoma area.

Roddy Taylor

Artist  Roddy Taylor grew up in the forests of Washington state and hills of San Diego, always creating drawings, movies, sculptures, and stories while finding joy in math and science. After earning a degree in civil engineering, he taught math and physics at boarding schools and continued to create side projects, especially role-playing games with students. Nature, culture, and stories are Roddy’s biggest inspirations for his work. The intricacies of the natural world and how humans have interpreted and interacted with it through the centuries are an infinite source of excitement and ideas. His biggest goals are to keep developing skills, use art to bring stories to life, and be a good father to his 6-year-old son.

Sandra creates an eclectic blend of visionary, fantasy, deity, erotic, and realistic wildlife artwork. She mostly does traditional work with some digital pieces. Sarah Clemens

Sarah is best known for her award-winning paintings of her cat and dragon combo, Magnus and Loki. With her realistic style, she creates images of the fantastic, which include small paintings on stone slabs, large oil paintings, and digital artwork. She and her husband and cats and terrariums and carnivorous plants  live in Mesa, Arizona.

Sophie Xie, Dream in Watercolor

Sophie Xie is a local watercolor artist from Bothell, Washington, whose painting journey began in 2024. Her artwork radiates otherworldly whimsy and a powerful use of color, inviting viewers into enchanting narratives. Through her mastery of repeated glazing and layering on cotton paper, she transforms watercolor into an emotionally charged experience, achieving a depth of color intensity that is truly nontraditional.

Sophie Yun Lee

Sophie Yun Lee logo
Sophie Yun Lee is an Asian American multidisciplinary artist with a bachelor’s in visual communication and double major in graphic design and illustration. She moved from Anchorage, Alaska, before art school and now resides in Tacoma, Washington. Her experience includes working as a freelance illustrator, graphic designer, and concept artist. She specializes in designing environments and backgrounds digitally and with gouache paint.

Stephanie Cost

Stephanie is an independent illustrator and designer living in Seattle. Born in Upstate New York, she moved to the Pacific Northwest over 10 years ago. Her art is inspired by the Pacific Northwest landscape, as well as mythology, fantasy books, and the history of artists’ pigments. Stephanie also directs anthology Tarot deck projects and designs textile patterns inspired by plant lore.

Theresa Halbert

Theresa Halbert logo
Theresa Halbert is passionate and inspired by working with textiles. She has worked professionally in costuming and apparel for over 30 years. Theresa infuses her love of fabric and embellishments with her love of science fiction and fantasy to create original artwork and costumes. She believes that art is not just something to look at, but something to experience.

Theresa explores the realms of fantasy creatures in traditional media, including acrylic and colored pencil, and in alternative media, such as her paintings on stone and feathers. She sends her artwork to convention art shows across the country.

Elizabeth Berrien started messing with wire in the 1960s. She never quit. In 1985, exhausted from making a life-size Pegasus for the Louisville International Airport, she went for what sounded like a much-needed rest… three days at something called “Westercon 38.” Well, Westercon was a wonderful, nonstop sensory event. Getting shanghaied into the green room at the insistence of Larry and Fuzzy Niven. Hall costumes. Room parties. World-building panels. Predawn high jinks. Everything but sleep! Even best of show in the art show. Today she lives in Olympia, Washington, has worldwide awards, and still loves the cons. She’s glad to be here!
