The Dacilane Academy’s Show Must Go On

Rotunda 2
Thursday, 6–9 p.m.
A Pathfinder Society Quest designed for 1st through 4th-level characters (pregenerated characters available). The Dacilane Academy often calls upon the Pathfinder Society to get them out of trouble, or to aid their students. Considering that many Pathfinders enroll their children in the academy, the relationship is one of mutual benefit. It’s therefore no surprise when the academy calls upon the Pathfinders to help make sure nothing terrible happens during the play that the students will be performing at a nearby theater, the Muse of the Rose. Recently, performances there have seen unfortunate accidents. No one has been seriously injured, but the performances were all ultimately ruined. It’s up to the PCs to ensure that the Dacilane Academy’s performance doesn’t suffer the same fate, even if they have to prevent disasters backstage during the show itself. Repeatable. 2–6 players, All ages.

A Pathfinder Society Quest designed for 1st- through 4th-level characters (pregenerated characters available). The Tskikha iruxi enclave has long been a staunch ally of the Pathfinder Society. Recently they seem to have attracted some elemental scamps, which are causing mischief and chaos throughout the enclave. The Tskikha have once again called upon their allies for help. Through this barrier, explorers and surveyors have glimpsed pristine settlements, verdant flora, and inexplicable magical emanations—yet no fauna or citizens populate the world’s surface. As in many other parts of the galaxy, the Drift Crisis changed everything. Now, the energy barrier surrounding Birnam’s Bubble cracks like shattering glass, and shards of this solidified energy have begun to fall through the atmosphere to the planet’s surface, causing significant destruction. Enter the breach and uncover the secrets of the lost civilizations of Birnam’s Bubble before they’re lost forever! System: Starfinder 2nd Ed, 2–6 players, Teen (13+).

Welcome to… Your Perfect Neighborhood! All Expansions Available

Rotunda 2
Friday, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
As an architect in Welcome To…, you want to build the best new neighborhood in the United States of the 1950s by adding resources to a pool, hiring employees, and more. Welcome To… plays like a roll-and-write dice game in which you mark results on a score- sheet…but without dice. Instead, you flip cards from three piles to make three different action sets with both a house number and a corresponding action from which everyone chooses one. You use the number to fill in a house on your street in numerical order. Then you take the action to increase the point value of estates you build or score points at the end for building parks and pools. Players have the option to alter or duplicate their house numbers. And everyone is racing to be the first to complete public goals. There’s lots to do and many paths to becoming the best suburban architect in Welcome To…! Because of the communal actions, game play is simultaneous and thus supports large groups of players. With many varying strategies and completely randomized action sets, no two games will feel the same! 2–8 players, Teen (13+).

Cascadia – Landmarks Expansion Available

Rotunda 2
Friday, 1:30–3:30 p.m.
Cascadia is a puzzly tile-laying and token-drafting game featuring the habitats and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest. In the game, you take turns building out your own terrain area and populating it with wildlife. You start with three hexagonal habitat tiles (with the five types of habitats in the game), and on a turn you choose a new habitat tile that’s paired with a wildlife token, then place that tile next to your other ones and place the wildlife token on an appropriate habitat. (Each tile depicts 1-3 types of wildlife from the five types in the game, and you can place at most one tile on a habitat.) Four tiles are on display, with each tile being paired at random with a wildlife token, so you must make the best of what’s available – unless you have a nature token to spend so that you can pick your choice of each item. New and returning players welcome! We’ll default to playing with the Landmarks expansion, but if we have new players, we may just use the additional landmark tiles and leave out the Landmark function. 2–4 players, Teen (13+).

Machi Koro Expanded

Rotunda 2
Friday, 7–7:30 p.m.
Machi Koro is a fast-paced game for 2–5 players. Each player wants to develop the city on their own terms in order to complete all of the landmarks under construction faster than their rivals. On their turn, each player rolls one or two dice. If the sum of the dice rolled matches the number of a building that a player owns, they get the effect of that building; in some cases opponents will also benefit from your dice (just as you can benefit from theirs). Then, with money in hand a player can build a landmark or a new building, ideally adding to the wealth of their city on future turns. The first player to construct all of their landmarks wins! We will play two of the current expansions that enhance the gameplay and add new layers of strategy: Harbor Expansion, introducing 13 new establishment cards, much new variety and complexity, and allowing for a fifth player to join the game; and Millionaire’s Row Expansion, which introduces fancy restaurants, exclusive clubs, and other grandiose establishments. 2–5 players; Preteen to adult (8+).

The Dacilane Academy’s Show Must Go On

Rotunda 2
Saturday, 5–8 p.m.
Recently performances there have seen unfortunate accidents. No one has been seriously injured, but the performances were all ultimately ruined. It’s up to the PCs to ensure that the Dacilane Academy’s performance doesn’t suffer the same fate, even if they have to prevent disasters backstage during the show itself. Machi Koro Expanded

Rotunda 2
Saturday, 9–9:30 p.m.

Verdant Decay: An Enigmatic Bloom Awaits

Rotunda 2
Sunday, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
Venture into Verdant Decay: An Enigmatic Bloom Awaits in the Western Reaches of the Shadowdark! Brave the shadowed paths, seeker, for a strange and unsettling whisper drifts from the tangled borders of the Western Reaches. Leave behind the ancient white citadel of Lydonia, where fey magic clings to the stones and the surrounding woods hold secrets both beautiful and bizarre. Beyond its familiar boundaries, where the influence of the cursed Marrow trees begins to wane but an air of the uncanny persists, lies a mystery veiled in overgrowth. Rumors amongst the woodsfolk speak of a hidden place, a garden choked with a strange and unnatural fecundity. Some claim it to be a place of forgotten power, others a haven for things best left undisturbed. Now an air of stillness has fallen over it, a silence more unsettling than the rustling leaves and buzzing insects of the surrounding wilds. Drawn by the allure of the unknown you will step into the roles of courageous adventurers. The air in this forgotten place hangs heavy with the scent of rich soil and something else… something subtly sweet and undeniably strange. The dense foliage conceals what wonders—or horrors—now thrive within its secluded depths. Join this Shadowdark RPG session if you dare to unravel the secrets of an unusually flourishing, yet somehow menacing, garden, navigate through dense and potentially treacherous overgrowth, confront the unseen entities that have taken root in this mysterious place, seek forgotten knowledge or perhaps valuable resources in a location touched by an unknown influence, and embrace the perilous and atmospheric exploration that defines Shadowdark. Journey into a realm where beauty might mask decay, and life may intertwine with something far more sinister. The secrets of the rotting gardens await. Will you unearth their truth, or become another bloom in their strange and unsettling tapestry? System: Shadowdark, 4–6 players, All ages.
