This month: Our Artist Guest of Honor, registration is open, applications for the Dealers’ Room, Art Show, and Club Tables are open, an update on our safety procedures, looking for a teen/YA leader, our book club’s October choice, soliciting donations for our Little Free Library, and wear cosplay to a hockey game!
It’s time to open all the things! Well, maybe not _all_ the things, but quite a few. Registration for Norwescon 45 is open, along with applications for the Art Show, Dealers’ Room, and Club Tables!
Come to the Oct. 22 Seattle Thunderbirds hockey game dressed in your best cosplay and join other cosplaying hockey fans from Norwescon and other local groups for a night of great hockey, fun events, and awesome cosplay!
Congratulations to P. Djèlí Clark for his two IGNYTE award wins, and to Uncanny Magazine for their publication of another winner!
September’s ConCom meeting is coming soon! Join us on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Seattle Airport or on Zoom to start planning Norwescon 45!

This report updates our second report with information received since its publication. There is one new case reports and one other update. This is our final update to this report.

This year there was an incident that one of the parties has discussed on social media. For that reason, we have decided to provide a limited public disclosure of the results of our investigation and the actions we have taken.
This report updates our initial report with information received since its publication. In addition to four new case reports, other updates are noted with a bold “Update:” tag.
The Norwescon COVID safety team would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all of you who helped us keep Norwescon 44 as safe as possible. All attending staff, members, pros, panelists, performers, artists, and dealers were vaccinated, and masking was followed well by everyone.
Better late than never — we have worked with this year’s Artist Guest of Honor Rob Carlos to produce our Norwescon 44 t-shirt!
Though we did our best to minimize the risk of COVID transmission at Norwescon 44, we recognize that 100% protection was unlikely. If you tested positive for COVID at or within two weeks following Norwescon 44, we ask that you let us know so that we can track potential transmission and notify members who may have been nearby. Thank you for helping us protect the Norwescon community!
Pre-registration for Norwescon 45 (April 6-9, 2023) is now open — for a limited time only! For the next four days, through Wednesday, April 20, 2022, we are offering a special convention weekend $55 registration rate for next year.
We at Norwescon would like to extend our congratulations to all the winners of our Masquerade, Art Show, and Single Pattern Contest, and to thank everyone who entered. You all do wonderful work, and we loved being able to see it in person again!
Norwescon’s Speculative Film Festival was held at Norwescon 44 over Thursday and Friday nights. The festival had a panel of 10 judges which watched over 100 films to select some of the best science fiction, fantasy, and horror short films from around the world.
