Along with Artist Guest of Honor Lee Moyer and our other great artists, we are excitedly looking for new participants to bring to the art show. If you’d like to participate in the Norwescon 36 Art Show, head on over to our Art Show page to check out the policies and get info on how to register!
We’re often asked why Norwescon and Sakura-Con are both scheduled for Easter weekend each year. Both are big geek-friendly events, and while there’s a slightly different focus, there are many who would prefer to attend both, rather than having to either split time between the two or choose one over the other.
Norwescon room block is now at 86% full. Don’t wait too long to make your reservation as we have been going up about 5% per week.

Norwescon was mentioned in an account of a project to develop a functional mechanical hand. It turns out that a gadget first created for a costume, and first shown publicly at Norwescon 34, is being adapted to assist a South African man who lost fingers on his right hand in a woodworking accident.

Happy summer! The annual Norwescon Volunteer Appreciation Picnic went off gangbusters last weekend, and preparations for Norwescon 36 are already well underway! We’re currently taking applications for Game Masters, panelists, and panel ideas.

As Chair and Vice Chair, Brad and I would like to announce and welcome the Norwescon 36 Executive Team. We have finished our interviews and have hired an excellent team of execs. Norwescon 36 has many changes this year with the new registration system and 501c3 and this team is definitely up to them. Please welcome them and make them feel at home in their new positions. We are now looking to filling out our staff and would love to hear from you about the positions you are interested in for NWC36.

Elections were held for the officers of Norwescon 36 (2013) on Saturday May 12th with Keith Johnson, LouAnna Valentine, and Doug Booze on this year’s election committee.
In brief: Your Norwescon 36 Executive Team will be headed by Chair Peggy Stewart and Vice-Chair Brad Nelson, with Sunny Jim Morgan and Pearl Young on the Guest of Honor Selection Committee wrangling more top-notch GOHs for future Norwescons!
