Gaming

Both open and scheduled gaming will be returning for Norwescon 36, and we’re looking for Game Masters to run sessions during scheduled gaming! Old or new, card, figurine, RPG, serious, silly, horrific, mysterious…. Just use the GM Registration Form, give us the details, and we’ll start building the schedule.

Gaming is also looking for volunteers to help out in the scheduled gaming room throughout the convention. We open gaming early on day one and run all four days, so we have lots of volunteer opportunities. Just drop us a line to let us know you’re interested!

Panels and Panelists

Our Programming department is also currently accepting applications for panelists and ideas for panels. Please read over our Becoming a Panelist page, then drop us a line through the contact link at the bottom to introduce yourself, tell us about your areas of interest, and apply for the panelist pool!

That’s all for now. Look for an announcement of concom meeting dates within the next couple weeks!

Art Show

Norwescon’s Art Show was a hotbed of activity with a small bidding war happening right before close. The sold stamps almost dried out. Our Judges worked hard to decide who should be honored this year. The art quality was some of the best that we have had. Who is DJ TOX2MUCH? https://www.norwescon.org/2012/03/28/who-is-dj-tox2much/ https://www.norwescon.org/2012/03/28/who-is-dj-tox2much/#comments Wed, 28 Mar 2012 19:00:03 +0000 Norwescon Special Events https://www.norwescon.org/?p=1267 The mysterious Norwescon DJ veteran DJ TOX2MUCH has quietly laid in stasis preparing for the time the world would need him once more. That time has now come as he brings the MasterMix Café back for one singular special event, Friday from 9pm-2am at Maxi’s. 21+ with ID and con badge. The more you drink, the better he sounds.

He brings with him his patented retro swing through fannish favorites all night long. This will be totally old skool; close confidant Keith Johnson says the enigmatic DJ promises all the things you came to expect from his 20 years of dances. The hits, the special mixes, the surprises, the talking–it’s all there! Yes, including the infamous “Experiment in Terror.”

When pressed for details, TOX2MUCH would only say, “Ladies and Gentlemen, take your positions please! The Istan bull is time warping Major Tom something good. Dare to be stupid because we can (can). Never trust a Star Trekkin’ Klingon, it’ll make ya wanna shout!”

Babelfish was unable to provide a proper translation.

Scheduled Gaming Update https://www.norwescon.org/2011/11/03/scheduled-gaming-update/ https://www.norwescon.org/2011/11/03/scheduled-gaming-update/#comments Thu, 03 Nov 2011 17:16:23 +0000 Norwescon Special Events https://www.norwescon.org/?p=774 This is to anyone interested in the happenings of the Scheduled Gaming at Norwescon 35. So far this year we have scheduled a variety of games including:

Cthulhu Tech RPG, Poo The Card Game, Nuts!, The Impossible Machine, Hecho, Cambria, Hibernia, Globalization, The Target, Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Cutthroat Caverns, Cleopatra, 7 Wonders, Dominion, Mansions of Madness, Elder Sign, Dominant Species, Kingsburg, Stoneage, Battlelore, and Memoir ’44.

As you can see we are starting to see some action lined up for the spring. I’ve set up a registration form on the Norwescon Website for game registration, if you are interested in running games sign up through that portal. — If you know anyone who runs miniature war games, I was told people were disappointed to not see many over the last few years.

If you are interested in being on Gaming staff for this year let me know. I will be investigating expanding offerings and spaces are changing, more on that later.

Thanks,
Alan Bond
