HEAR YE! HEAR YE!

Special Norwescon Volunteer Event: Registration System Dry-Run and Training

When: Saturday, February 26th, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Where: SeaTac Double-Tree, in one of the Olympic rooms in wing 7 (check the reader-board when you get there).

Who: Anyone interested in working at the registration desk, or willing to take a few hours to help ensure that registration runs smoothly again this year.

Rewards: Those who stick around for the wrap-up will be fed PIZZA! Also, you will receive pre-convention volunteer credit for participating.

Details:

This year we will be putting a new computerized system into use at registration. Its benefits for the convention goers will be faster registration times (i.e. less time waiting in line). Its benefits for the convention will include better information tracking, both of members and of cash flow.

To make this work, we will need a larger volunteer staff at registration, and we would like to ensure that you all get the required training and practice before we get to the convention.

We also need your help testing this system, so we can find the problems that might cause us to be "down" now, rather than waiting for them to crop up at the convention. All those not sitting at the computer stations will be asked to stand in line, pretending to be various members registering for the convention.
If you expect to be able to attend, please let use know by e-mailing to registration. This way we can send you training materials in advance, and can have the appropriate amount of materials on hand at the event.

I hope to see many of you at this event!
