Starting at 2 PM Thursday to 3 PM Sunday, we will chart the stars of innovation and exploration, offering panels that reveal the hidden wonders of the programming cosmos. Speed Friending is Back
We’re bringing back Speed Friending this year, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! It’s an easy way to meet new people, but without the awkwardness. Maybe you just have a chat with someone for a few minutes, or maybe you each find a new anchor person to wander around with!
Comedy Comes to Norwescon 47!
If you’ve been looking for some laughs to liven up your Norwescon experience, look no further! This year’s convention features four different improv and stand-up comedy shows, all celebrating genre fiction and geek culture.
On Friday afternoon, catch some improv comedy for film lovers from 3:30-5pm in Grand 3! The cast of B-Rated! create a fully improvised original movie acted out onstage that incorporates your suggestions, complete with an improvised live commentary track! If you love the kind of unforgettable popcorn movies you watch and riff on with your friends, family, or robot pals, B-Rated! is the show for you. Presented by CSz Seattle.
Saturday night in Maxi’s Lounge is all comedy, all night! Come upstairs, grab a drink, and enjoy four and a half hours of unique comedy offerings.
Starting at 6pm is DNDProv – Made Up Misadventures!, where comedic adventures are spun from a mix of narrative improv and Dungeons & Dragons, and you can influence the story by inspiring quests, villains, chaos, and more! If you love laughter, fantasy, and improvised magical problem-solving, you’ll definitely want to check out DND-Prov – Made Up Misadventures! Presented by Jet City Improv.
Stick around for Unexpected Productions: Impossible Loves at 7:30pm! Discover this enchanting comedy show that immerses you in a unique supernatural realm, with a thrilling, fully improvised paranormal romance. Your suggestions will inspire a new captivating love story, where anyone or anything can fall in love. Enter a world where love transcends all boundaries, and indulge in the captivating tales of … Impossible Loves. Presented by Unexpected Productions.
Rounding out the night at 9pm is A Gaggle of Geeks: A Geeky Comedy Showcase, celebrating voices often overlooked in both comedy and geek culture. This funny bunch of comics, who also happen to be nerds, will bring you their best jokes and deepest cuts. Presented by Geeky Comedy Seattle.

Come out for a table read of Verily, A New Hope (Friday, 11:30am-1pm), or the SFF Movie Mab Libs (Thursday, 7pm-8pm), where you–yes, you!–can read a part. Or just make all of the beep boops and pewpew noises with the rest of the audience!
MiSTies! Let’s nerd out with each other in the not-too-distant future! Join us Friday, 5pm-6pm. Feel free to bring food up to the Presidential Suite. We’ll track down a photographer for a group photo too.

Magic the Gathering Mystery Booster 2
Maxi’s Ballroom
Friday, 6-9 p.m.
We still have a few spots left in our Magic: The Gathering draft of Mystery Booster 2. Hosted by our gaming partner Dragonflight GameCon, this is a limited-run pack with some retro cards and very rare pulls. The event is limited to 16 participants and tickets are $50 each. Be sure to sign up in advance on Warhorn. Ticket payment is taken at the door.
Masquerade Deadlines
Pre-masquerade meeting times are Friday 7pm-8pm in Cascade 7&8, and Saturday 10am-12pm in Grand 3.

Are you an author thinking about branching into audiobooks? These two panels are for you. Come join our professional audiobook narrators as they read from selections sent in by Norwescon authors. Want your selection to be read? Be sure to send it to the Author Listeners Lounge before the deadline.

Does your hook grab your target readers? Are you sure? Try out your opening in front of a live audience with the help of professional voice actors. Our audiobook narrators will read a stack of first pages out loud. Audience members who read in your genre will raise their hands when they lose interest. As the author, you’ll stay anonymous while getting feedback from readers. To submit work, email your first page with your genre designation at the top.
