In addition to the many items donated for the charity auction, this year Norwescon is happy to offer the second half of the art collection donated by the Rolls family in 2017. The collection consists of what can be described as hard sci-fi art, spacescapes, rocket ships, and stars.
William Rolls and Dana Kramer-Rolls collected these art pieces throughout the years from 1970 to roughly 2000, primarily from science fiction and fantasy conventions throughout California. Many of these pieces were created for art auctions. As proud supporters of independent artists, the Rolls family has always striven to collect from new and emerging artists.
When William passed away, his granddaughter, Morgan Brown, kindly donated the collection to Norwescon for sale at the charity auction. Morgan is excited to help us raise money for Northwest Harvest and hopes that each piece finds a home on the walls of a science fiction fan.
The charity auction has an exciting new feature this year. Bring your favorite pen to our first silent auction! You spoke and we listened. To speed up the process and create more fun, we will set up additional tables and make many of the smaller items made available for purchase through this process.
Please join us on Sunday, April 1, in Grand 2 at 11 a.m. for a preview, with the combined charity and art show auction beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Norwescon thanks the Rolls/Brown family for this very generous donation.
