Another successful convention weekend has gone by, and Norwescon 40 is done! Many thanks to all of you who attended, to the many volunteers who showed up to help out, to our concom staff who devote so much of their year to putting all of this together, to the many panelists, artists, vendors, and clubs who participated, and of course, to our excellent Guests of Honor: Ian McDonald, Cory and Catska Ench, Ethan Siegel, Nancy Kress, and Marc Gascoigne and Mike Underwood of Angry Robot Books!
We’ll be keeping an eye on social media and the rest of the web for your Norwescon 40 posts, pictures, and memories: please be sure to tag them with #nwc40 so we can find them! We’ll get our official photos processed and posted as soon as we can, but with literally thousands of shots taken by our photography team over the course of the weekend, we have a lot of work to do to get them all sorted, processed, and ready to post, so we do ask for your patience. In the meantime, we’d love to see you add your photos from this weekend to our official Norwescon 40 group on Flickr!
But now that we’ve wrapped up 40, what about 41? If you haven’t heard already via social media or the official announcement at our Masquerade halftime: We are happy to announce that our Writer Guest of Honor will be Ken Liu, our Artist Guest of Honor will be Wayne Barlowe, our Science Guest of Honor will be Mathew Wedel, our Spotlight Publisher will be Green Ronin Publishing, and our theme will be “Uncovering Mysteries”. Look for more announcements later this year!
Norwescon 41 will be held March 29–April 1, 2018 — and pre-registration will be open soon! Our membership rate starts at just $55 for a full four-day membership; this price will increase later on this year, so be sure to get your membership soon to get the best deal! We will once again be at the Doubletree by Hilton Seattle Airport, and we will post room reservation info later this year.
See you next year!
Where can we find the results of the masquerade?
Hi Denise,
They’re not here yet, but they’ll be posted on the website as soon as I get a copy.
Masquerade winners are now posted to this blog, and listed on the Masquerade page!
What was the official attendance count for Norwescon 40?
2860 (we’re working on updating the History page on this site with that info, along with a few other corrections).
